Last minute…

I am on a streak. Of course I had no idea what to write about and it is already 10pm. I guess I technically only have 2 hours to come up with something.

The only thing that jumps to mind is the intense pain in my quads. I went to do some Christmas shopping today and noticed they are killing me. I had legs day at the gym yesterday and did some serious squats, so that is what it is from.

It is funny because anyone who works out if you ask them about squats they get the same pained look on their face. It is a killer exercise; it is great because it is a compound exercise so it works a bunch of muscles, but they SUCK. It is as simple as that.

Honestly if someone ever told me, they liked squats and looked forward to them – I would instantly not trust them. I would immediately think they were saying that to sound cool or hardcore. I know that is a little judgemental on my part…but liking squats? I mean, I like the benefits of squats, and I respect them as a powerful exercise…but liking?

I haven’t felt this much pain since the first time I worked out. I am sure tomorrow will be even worse, but they will be fine after that, so no sense in wasting about 500 words on that subject.

I guess it is officially the Christmas season. It seemed like as soon as Halloween displays went down, Christmas ones started going up.

I am going to be honest here, I am one of the weird ones – I like the malls at Christmas time. Yeah it is packed and busy, but I don’t mind. I especially liked it when I lived in Toronto. Going to the Eaton Centre at Christmas time was always something I looked forward too.

Downtown Toronto is great in the winter in my opinion, especially at Christmas time. Yonge Street from about College to King is always a great site.
I know there is a lot of talk about the “financial crisis”. I guess there should be, people I know are watching huge chunks drop from their RRSPs. People are being laid off. Factories and manufacturers are closing down. I don’t like to dwell on the negative, so I try not to think about it too much. I have seen some interesting stories come out of this crisis though.

For example, http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/reuters/081205/odds/odd_us_cars .

Yeah, two for one cars – if that doesn’t say financial crisis I don’t know what does.
