This is a song form last year, but the video is relatively new.  I think the video does the track justice, the over the top drums pair perfectly with the live performance clips.   You get a “epic” feel from the song, and the video captures that perfectly.

It is funny what a cool video can do.  On Schoolboy Q’s recent album (which was fire) I never even counted this as a stand out track, but the video helps remind you how HARD it is.  Great use of “video chick” as well.

ASAP Rocky, one of my fav new artists from last year, drops a video for his hypnotizing song off of LiveLoveA$AP – Wassup. The video is reportedly inspired by the movies Scarface, Belly, Enter The Dragon, The Warriors and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.

Freddie Gibbs isn’t out there spitting inspirational raps.  He raps about robbing people and he does it at a ridiculous high level (rapping, not robbing that is). This video is simple but effective.  Gibbs could start a whole “home robbery” sub genre of rap if he keeps spitting at this level.
