Ten Rap Songs You Need To Hear – Number One

1. Freddie Gibbs — Queen (Luv Ya To Death)

Who – Freddie Gibbs – first time I heard this guy I thought “Wow welcome real back to rap”. A very genuine rapper from everything I have read. He comes from the beautful scenic…Gary, Indiana.

Why You Have To Hear Him – You gotta here Freddie because he seems very genuine. In an era where we give “drug kingpin” rappers like Rick Ross a pass for…being a cop, it is nice to see someone who’s life isn’t created by a label. I think he has a chance to blow up. Great voice, really solid flow and lyrics for days. The complete package. I don’t think he is a fan of label politics so I worry about that a bit, but all signs point to Freddie having star potential. I do worry that his style is too raw for big time exposure. He might end up being your rappers favorite rapper type of guy, but I hope not. His two mixtapes “Miseducation of Freddie Gibbs” and “midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik” are both worth tracking down online and checking out.

The Song – This song is a great storytelling track. The first time I heard this track I thought about Biggie. It doesn’t sound anything like a biggie track, but the story telling was that good.

The beat isn’t a stand out, and I am SURE I have heard it before but it is a good enough stage for this great story. Don’t get me wrong it is really solid…reminds me of a 90’s NY beat in a way. This track seems like the anti-Renee of it’s generation. If you are a Lost Boyz fan, you will understand when you listen to this song.

Check it out, and pay attention to the story – NSFW. May offend some people too, I try to remember that it is a fake story :p

Extras – This is one of Freddie’s most recent videos…
